So sorry for not updating in a while! To be honest, I thought my first blog post was personal, so I have felt intimidated by the prospect of posting again. This post will be more tame, to let the few kind souls who have found my website that I am alive. (And, to prove to my OCD brain that I can make a half-decent post dissimilar to my last one, because who cares?)

I just celebrated Mardi Gras*. Here, we get a week off to celebrate Carnival and go parading. Today was day two back at school. I am so exhausted. I loved partying all week, but I have whiplash from going back to normal so quickly.

Below are some of the outfits I wore to Mardi Gras:

Mardi Gras outfit
A slip dress with bloomers underneath. Slip is from Depop (I think it’s vintage, but I can’t tell,) and bloomers are from GRL Japan.

Mardi Gras outfit
This sequin/ruffle romper!

Mardi Gras outfit
Perler bead belly chain! (and a festive Hello Kitty necklace)

Not pictured: a Valentine’s day look where I stuck rhinestones to my face in the shape of a big heart. (I went out to parades on Saturday, which was Valentine’s day, so, instead of wearing Mardi colors, I wore hearts.) I don’t want to expose myself by showing my face here, but it was my favorite!

I got this cute sticker from a krewe of angry looking clowns.

Between Mardi Gras, a big job interview last month, and academics, I have been too busy to keep updating this site. But, it is always on my mind! I just wanted to do this quick post to check in, since I finally have the time.

I hope I will post more consistently from here on out. Bye!

*I know “Mardi Gras” technically only means “Fat Tuesday” in French. But, here, we celebrate it all week. There is no better word for the week leading up to Fat Tuesday. Calling it “Carnival” is too pretentious, and a bit incorrect. It makes it seem like I am talking about the entire month of feasting!
